How I work with you
My role as your counsellor is to create a safe and supportive environment where you feel heard and understood. This is our foundation in giving you the capacity to heal and grow on your own, by empowering you to have trust in your own sense of direction - whilst I help you navigate as your personal compass to read your own map. This journey will enable you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself, challenge your core beliefs as well as move towards personal growth by gaining more clarity - all facilitated by the space that WE create.
I must stress that counselling is your space and what you decide to share with me is up to your discretion, nothing is right or wrong, big or small - yet it is my duty to ensure that you feel the warmth and trust to comfortably share such important experiences.
As a counsellor, I believe that the answers that you search are already within you, it is up to me to allow you to explore this and let you feel and search without judgement - in exploration of your own answers.
I utilise the Person-Centred and Experiential theory in my approach as a counsellor - if you would like to know more about this approach then you can find more information below.

Person-Centred Experiential Therapy/Counselling
Core Belief
This type of counselling emphasises the ability that you naturally have for growth, assuming that given the right supportive environment, people can achieve their full potential.
The 'Experiential' aspect
Can involve encouraging you to explore and express your current feelings in the present moment (in session). Furthermore, explore awareness of bodily sensations and link these to the feelings you experience. This pays close attention to your experiences and what they make you feel to allow for deeper insight and understanding.
Counsellor Role
The therapist will largely be non-directive, which means the direction of the session will be determined by you. However, the therapist will remain attentive to being in tune to your active exploration of your self.
In Essence
Person-centred experiential therapy is about creating a supportive space where you feel truly heard and understood - focusing on feelings and experiences to promote personal growth. It's about helping you connect with your own inner wisdom to find your own solutions
